This author is pretty much an auto buy for me and for the most part, her books leave me satisfied and maybe even with a goofy smile on my face. Having said that; this was not such an occasion. My biggest problem was with Oliver. He was childish, irresponsible, immature, hurtful, manipulative, and was not above lying in order to achieve his goals. Chloe, our leading lady, was marginally better but still annoying. She was prone to outbursts, guilty of not thinking things through and apparently had no self preservation skills when it came to Oliver. At some point you'd think she'd wise up about Oliver, but no, she bought into his bologna every single time. It wasn't until almost the end that she finally stood up to him and to!d him no. By that time, you turn the page and BAM there's the epilogue and we're told about how it's been two months, Oliver has turned over a new leaf, they're together almost 24hrs a day, life is great, he proposes, the end. Was I disappointed? Yes. Will I still read anything this author writes? Absolutely. I have loved all of every single one of this author's books, until now. I can't love a book if I hate the 'hero', and I absolutely hated this one. He was a spoiled brat, a user, and a bully, throughout their lifelong "friendship" he used her over and over and then wrote it all off as no big deal. I liked the heroine, but in the end, she was too much of a doormat. I'm giving it one and a half stars because I like the authors writing style, and the premise of the story had promise at first but unfortunately didn't deliver in the end.
